To construct an Activity Tower with 2 levels of aerial trekking, twin zip wires, climbing/abseil wall and a giant swing at a new adventure complex in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. We were the last contractors on site, we had to work around the existing infrastructure in a semi operational venue. All of the materials were sourced and fabricated in Europe and shipped out to ensure continuity.
When breaking ground it became apparent that every utility for the site ran under the proposed development site. As this was the only location for the AT course. We had to adapt our designs and work around the problem. The rest of the build was methodical and efficient with the majority of the build being completed in 10 weeks. We had a multinational team with team members coming from, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Ireland and the UK. Thankfully we were building in the desert so when there was a language barrier we could draw in the sand!
The outcome was a high quality, commercial Air Park complex that can cater for ‘pay for play’ clients and developmental course group bookings. The comment of an independent inspector on the course’s first annual inspection was that the course “was in a fantastic condition.”
“We are really pleased with the product Vertigo delivered; they worked really hard in difficult conditions to create a quality aerial trekking complex”
