Assignment:  As part of a wider transformation agenda driven by regulatory and industry pressures, we were engaged to design and deliver a leadership and professional development programme for the top 60 executives in partnership with Henley Management College to support a radical cost reduction and service improvement programme.

Context:  Significant pressure from the regulator saw Wessex Water facing declining revenues whilst simultaneously needing to invest in infrastructure, technology and its people to address quality and service issues.  In combination with a forthcoming change of ownership and the need to maintain profitability, Wessex needed to radically reduce its cost base and upgrade its change leadership and change management capability.

Achievements:  Working in partnership with Henley Management College, we built an executive and senior management development programme around a 360 degree feedback process and leading research from Henley Management College.

  • Delivered over 150 structured and free-form one-to-one executive coaching and facilitation sessions for each of the top 60 senior managers including the main board members.
  • Engaged and supported participants in structured personal and professional development using the using the Benchmarks™ Performance Management Framework from Oxford Psychologists Press (OPP).
  • Developed and embedded personal development objectives aligned with the milestones and objectives of the wider transformation agenda including support to lead into, and manage the survivors of, another round of significant headcount reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Designed and delivered a series of change sponsorship, change management and performance management modules as part of the leadership education and development agenda.
